Unless otherwise stated all ballpoint and rollerball pens are made to receive and use ‘Parker’ pen style refills.

CA is an abbreviation of CYANOACRYLATE or commonly know as superglue. When a pen body is made as a hybrid, to ensure all the surfaces are covered, sealed, stabilised and protected, up to 16 layers of CA are applied, then reformed & polished to a high gloss finish. This ensures the overall finish is consistent and the porous materials are protected.
CA finish is hard, durable and transparent.

Please note that a CA finished pen, has taken a lot longer to produce and is therefore more expensive than a none CA finished pen.

To achieve a pearled finish within a resin pen blank, there has to be some translucency to the resin. Otherwise the pearling will not show up.

When turning a body wall thickness of less than 3 mm there is a chance the translucency of the pearling will allow the brass barrel inside to be seen through the resin (and a much higher probability when a sub 1mm wall thickness is achieved).

It is common practice for pen makers to either coat the brass barrel or paint the drilled hole in the blank prior to gluing the barrel in place.
Colour is a personal preference to compliment the finished pen should the wall thickness be very thin.

Yes wood can be, and often is finished with a natural finish.

A natural finish using either oils or wax protects the wood and allows the user to still feel the wood.

Note CA is used mainly with hybrids to ensure uniform finish and protection. It allows a high gloss polished finish and durable protection. However the 'feel' of the wood and grain is lost due to the CA coating.

As with all pens I have made, either resin, CA finish or natural finish.

DO NOT wash and or clean with strong chemical cleaners.
A gentle wipe with a moist, clean, non-abrasive cloth will be sufficient.

With regards to natural finished wooden bodied pens, as required polish with a very small amount of good quality furniture wood polish (no colour additives).

Sometimes precious metals (plated and or solid) are used within the pens construction, decoration or nib.

In the pen's description I describe its appearance and colour, this is its colour description only.

When a precious metal is used and specified look for the 'k' value & whether it is plated or solid.

EXAMPLE: Fountain Pen Gold finish plated mechanism, 23k Gold plated nib Hybrid body (wood & green, black, silver resin). Constantin range Mistral FP.

The fountain pen's nib has a 23k Gold plating on it. All other components are gold in appearance and not actually a precious metal.

Silver (plated or solid) is either referred to as 'Sterling Silver' or 925
